Year 3 go to Uluru

Year 3 go to Uluru

During Term 1, Year 3 has been involved in a deep study of Indigenous cultures as part of our Integrated unit of work.

Using picture books, artworks, videos, multi-model texts and class discussions the girls have broadened their historical inquiry skills and geographical mapping skills to enrich their understanding of Indigenous people, cultures and histories in true multi-disciplinary style.

In class, the girls have enjoyed reading the picture book Are We There Yet? taking us on a visual journey around Australia. This has inspired much of the creative artwork in the classroom inspired by the unique illustrations of Alison Lester. Some of the incredible art the girls have created includes beautiful watercolour representations of famous Australian landmarks such as Uluru, as well as unique paper-crafted saltwater crocodiles.
