Guiding Principles

Loreto Kirribilli will base any decision about offering a place to a student on a range of factors listed below (not listed in priority order):

  • Baptism into the Catholic faith;
  • Family connection with Loreto Kirribilli, including sisters of current or past students, and daughters or granddaughters of past students;
  • Families whose attitudes, values and priorities are congruent with those of Loreto Kirribilli and the mission of the Catholic church;
  • Level of involvement of the applicant and family in their Catholic parish or community;
  • Family connection with another Loreto school;
  • The potential of the applicant to contribute and actively engage in the wider School community, and to positively impact the life and culture of the School;
  • Age of the applicant at the date of submission of the application form.

All decisions regarding enrolments are at the discretion of the Principal, and subject to availability. An offer of enrolment to an applicant is not dependent on all factors having been met, and the above factors are only indicative of matters that may be considered during the enrolment selection process.

Process

  • The School will contact the applicant’s family to confirm the family’s intention to proceed with the application and to request references and supporting documentation approximately two years prior to entry into Kindergarten, Year 3, Year 5 or Year 7. Supporting documentation may include a confidential parish reference and a confidential personal reference. Supporting documentation will be reviewed and those families meeting the School’s criteria will be contacted regarding an enrolment interview.
  • It is the responsibility of parents/caregivers to provide all necessary information regarding the learning needs of prospective students. Withholding information may impact an enrolment offer or place at the School.
