School farewells Board Chair after eight years

After a tenure of eight and a half years, our Board Chair, Ms Sheila McGregor, is stepping down at the end of this year. Sheila’s outstanding contribution to Loreto Kirribilli during challenging times, and stewardship during her term, will leave a lasting legacy. She leaves the School sustainably stronger and ideally positioned for the future.

The School Executive team, the staff, students, parents, ex-students, and Loreto sisters join in thanking Sheila for all she has done so willingly as our Chair.

Whether it was helping the school navigate the challenges of the Covid pandemic, overseeing the construction of our seven-storey ‘Spiritus’ building, ensuring effective stewardship of the school's financial resources, or modelling best practice in governance, Sheila has been a wise, generous and supportive chair.

Board meetings led by Sheila were always of the highest quality, expertly organised, and collaborative. Sheila would draw out the strengths of each board member for the benefit of our school.

Ensuring the school delivers the best educational outcomes for the students in our care has always been Sheila’s priority. She would take every opportunity to reinforce the exceptional work of teachers and staff at Loreto Kirribilli, offering praise and practical support, which was always highly valued.

At the 2025 End of Year Award Ceremony, Ms McGregor addressed the school for the last time as Board Chair, concluding, "As I end my time in this role, I carry with me the warmth of these experiences and the joy of having been part of such a dedicated and compassionate community. Thank you all for your support, dedication, and the wonderful memories we have created together. I wish my successor, Ms Kate Gillingham, all the best as she assumes leadership of your School Board in 2026. With Ms Gillingham and Dr Archard in their roles, I am confident that I leave our School in the very best of hands".
