Physics student researches quantum cryptography with Macquarie University

Congratulations to Year 12 student Emma, whose HSC Science Extension major project was featured in a recent issue of the Sydney Morning Herald.

Emma’s research into quantum cryptography involved working at Macquarie University with two physicists as mentors: Thomas Volz, Professor in the School of Science and Mathematics, and Dr Harish Vallabhapurapu, Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Emma has applied to study a double degree at Macquarie in actuarial studies and science. “Whatever happens in the future, physics will always be my passion.”
