Tania Mastroianni (’12)

Tania Mastroianni (’12) was born with a rare congenital heart condition and a 2% chance of survival. Within her first six months, Tania had three open heart surgeries, a stroke, and was given a permanent pacemaker. Over the years, she has overcome numerous medical challenges, including five heart surgeries.

Tania’s experience in and out of hospital as a child led her to create her Business With A Heart, an initiative she founded to bring joy and comfort to children in hospitals. Tania collaborates with businesses and individuals to sponsor teddy bears for children in need.

Tania believes her time at Loreto Kirribilli played a pivotal role in shaping her outlook on life and her commitment to service. “I was surrounded by a community of teachers and peers who encouraged me to persevere and embrace those core values of the Loreto tradition: compassion, courage, and justice. These principles continue to guide me today.”

For me, this initiative is more than a business - it is a testament to the power of kindness, and the impact that even small acts of generosity can have on the lives of others.
