In the five years since Sophie Greiner graduated from Loreto Kirribilli, she has been busy discovering her love for tech startups and entrepreneurship.
Her first start-up, Dome, has developed into a social media platform connecting like-minded podcast listeners. “For listeners, a space to engage in meaningful discussions, connect with people who share their passion, and empower the community in the real world. And for hosts, AI-powered audience intelligence so they truly know who their listeners are and what resonates”, Sophie explains.
The award-winning idea has attracted plenty of attention from podcasters and the startup community. Recently Dome was named Australia’s top innovation in the Red Bull Basement challenge, ranking in the top 10 globally out of 110,000 startups from 40 countries – all before the actual launching of the product.
Outside of Dome, Sophie is completing her final year at UTS and working with Hannah Ferguson at Cheek Media, an independent digital news outlet. Despite her frantic schedule, Sophie enjoyed networking at a recent LK Connect event. “As a Loreto Kirribilli alum, participating in networking events through LK Connect has expanded valuable connections, and I am truly grateful to be part of such a community.”
These experiences – working with a figure like Hannah and serendipitously meeting my co-founder – have reinforced the importance of being part of strong communities of like-minded women who uplift one another.
