Speaking up in the 'Bear Pit'

Speaking up in the 'Bear Pit'

We proudly congratulate our Junior School orators Amelia (Year 6) and Madeline (Year 4) for representing our the school in the Bear Pit Public Speaking Competition at State Parliament House.

The competition, which derives its ‘Bear Pit’ name from the often loud and raucous NSW Parliament, includes different-level competitions to develop the public speaking skills of students. The students are seated on the Government benches and speak from the floor of the Parliament, in the same way as the Premier or a Minister does during a session of Parliament. thank you to MP for North Shore, Ms Felicity Wilson, who was there to support her young constituents.

Both girls delivered exceptional speeches, showcasing the outstanding public speaking skills of our students. Congratulations to Madeline for winning the Stage 2 category.
