Loreto Kirribilli debaters have had a very busy two weeks. Tuesday, 24 June saw us host Danebank in the first round of the Archdale competition. Loreto won 6 of the 7 debates in a very successful evening. Tuesday, 31 June had Loreto Archdale teams away at Wenona and in very tough evening of debating. Our 7A team came away with a win.
On Friday, 27 May Loreto Kirribilli travelled to Loreto Normanhurst for the last of the regular rounds in the CSDA competition. All of the teams have trained very hard this season and have showed great commitment to being part of Loreto Kirribilli debating. We had wins to Years 7,8,9 and 11. Our Year 11 team have done particularly well given that they are all Year 10 students. Our Year 8 team will now progress to the Elimination Round on 17th June which Loreto Kirribilli will be hosting.
Also on Friday our Primary B and Year 9 ISDA teams had their quarterfinal debates. Primary B defeated St. Aloysius and will now debate Sydney Grammar in their semi final. Year 9s debated against Riverview on the topic: “Political candidates should be required to pass character tests before standing for election”. They lost the debate but have had a very strong season and should be proud of their achievements.
