We have over 27,000 print resources available as well as quality online eResources. These include Britannica Encyclopaedia for Schools, Ebsco databases, LinksPlus, and many more subject specific databases as well as eAudiobooks and eBooks available via our Bolinda Borrowbox and Wheelers collections. Our resources are available to the school community through our Library CH@LK pages.
Usage statistics and feedback demonstrate that staff and students appreciate the opportunity to work, study, and read in the exciting and flexible learning spaces that the Library provides.
Students are guided through research tasks to ensure the development of critical literacy skills by experienced Teacher-Librarians who work collaboratively with class teachers. The students also experience the magic of literature and reading for pleasure in wide reading classes.
A regular showcase of students’ work as well as author and illustrator events, plus thematic displays, motivate students to explore new challenges.
Generous opening hours from 7:30am to 6:00pm every weekday during the term as well as the provision of study space for Year 12 during the holidays at the end of Terms 1, 2 and 3 are much appreciated by the students.
Assistance is given to the girls and staff by a team of enthusiastic Library staff – Mrs Sircelj, (Library Manger) Mrs Hurst and Ms Roberts, (Teacher-Librarians) Mrs Dela Cruz, Mrs Sharp and Mrs Tyrrell (Library Assistants).
Study Mentors, chosen from top performing students in the past few years, are available to all girls every afternoon from 3:30pm to 6:00pm in the Library to assist them with their homework and study. No bookings are necessary. A list of Study Mentors for each day, and their subject specialties, is advertised on our Library CH@LK page and there is also a poster in the Library for quick reference.
