Ignatian Interschool Forum
Last Monday, ten Year 11 Loreto girls traveled to Kincoppal Rose Bay to partake in the Ignatian Interschool Student Forum. This forum involved St Vincent’s, Kincoppal,St Aloysius and Loreto Normanhurst, mixing all together before sitting down in a room and discussing important issues that we as young people felt needed to be addressed. Naturally, Donald Trump was one of the main topics discussed but other matters such as refugees, climate change and youth depression were also brought up through discussion. As a group, we were able to share our opinions with others, who would share their own ideas. Together we could create a concrete plan that we as young people would be able to strive for and eventually achieve. It was refreshing to hear others’ point of view, their beliefs and what they valued. What was wonderful to hear was how well informed many of our peers were about current political events, relevant issues that are very much present today in the world, and within our own nation. It was a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to the next Forum.
