LIBRARY ACCESS FOR YEAR 12 DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Our school library will be available to Year 12 students over the upcoming break. This service was very positively received by the girls last year, and we hope that this year it will also provide a valuable opportunity for our students to continue their learning in a familiar, comfortable and well resourced space, both in private study and also in collaborative endeavours.
Please be aware of the following details relating to library use during the break. These will also be emailed to the girls.
The library will be open and staffed between 8:15am and 3:45pm Monday to Friday from Monday, 10 April until Monday, 24 April inclusive. It will be closed for staff morning tea (10:00-10:15am) and lunch (12:30-1:00pm) and students will need to leave the library at these times
- Only Loreto Kirribilli Year 12 students may use the library
- All the usual expectations for behaviour in the library will apply
- Students will be asked to sign in and out of the library so that in the event of an emergency, all girls may be accounted for
- Students will need to show their Loreto Kirribilli student ID when they sign in
CONGRATULATIONS TO LUCINDA HOGAN
The Simpson Prize is a history competition which has a focus on the legacy of ANZAC, open to all Year 9 and 10 students in Australia. We are proud to announce that Lucinda Hogan of Year 11, who entered the competition last year, has been selected as the winner for New South Wales in the 2017 Simpson Prize.
Many outstanding entries were submitted to the competition, and Lucinda is to be congratulated on this fine achievement, which is testament to her excellent skills and efforts as an historian.
This highly prestigious prize includes a Presentation Ceremony at Parliament House as part of a two-day Canberra program and a tour to the Western Front, France, in April. The announcement of the 2017 Winners and Runners-up was made by the Hon. Dan Tehan MP this week at Parliament House.
We look forward to further celebrating this wonderful news with Lucinda, and congratulate her on this significant achievement.
