Mary Ward Connect provides a unique opportunity for twelve Year 10 students to travel to other Loreto schools in Australia. This year’s students traveled to Ballarat in Victoria accompanied by Ms Mary Leahy and to Coorparoo in Brisbane accompanied by Ms Ashleigh Fowler. Not knowing exactly what to expect, we could never have imagined how fantastic this experience would be. From the excitement of first arriving and meeting our host “sisters” to the sadness of leaving them all behind; we can honestly say we had the best four days!
The Mary Ward Connect experience allowed us to not only see how other Loreto schools work, but to develop strong friendships with our host sisters and other girls.
It also helped to strengthen our understanding of the Loreto values we all share and strive to live by. Mary Ward Connect is all about forming links and acknowledging the other Loreto schools with which we have so much in common. It is about learning from one another, expanding our social circles and striving to live by what it truly means to be a Loreto girl.
On behalf of all the girls who went, we are all so very grateful for this opportunity. We loved every moment of it!
