Well, the year certainly got off to a great start on 10 February with a near record attendance for the Welcome Cocktail Party on the Centenary Hall lawn. Thank you to all of the 566 parents and staff who attended and made it such an enjoyable night. Thanks also to the Year 12 girls who did such an admirable job in making sure we were all well fed on the night. And of course a huge thank you to Penny Hurley and Vanessa Loadsman for organising such a successful event, it was a lot of effort but the rewards were clear. Thank you again.
Fundraising focus – Cool for School
The P&F aims this year to continue the excellent fundraising work of last year’s Committee and parents to support the continuing roll-out of air conditioning for the Senior School. If ever there was a need for evidence as to why this is needed we think the last couple of weeks serve that purpose and then some!
We will keep you updated throughout the year on how our efforts are progressing, but of course it ultimately comes down to parent engagement in this worthwhile task. So any help you can give, or any suggestions you have, please let us know. Of course the simplest way to help is to come along to the P&F organised events…such as the P&F lunch.
FATHER DAUGHTER MASS
All fathers, grandfathers, godfathers and father-figures are particularly invited to attend our annual Father – Daughter Mass on Sunday, 5 March at 9:30am in the Centenary Hall with their daughters. This is always a wonderful community celebration followed by a delicious barbecue arranged by the P&F. We are very lucky this year to have Father Senan Ward OSA from the Catholic Community of North Harbour as our celebrant. Students should wear appropriate casual clothing rather than school uniform. We look forward to seeing you there!
P&F Lunch – Thursday, 30 March 2017 at Manly Golf Club
The next of our events on the Loreto social calendar is the P&F lunch. Note that this year it’s on a Thursday. Invites will be sent shortly. It will be a great event and we have secured an excellent guest speaker (and Loreto mum) Kylea Tink who is the CEO of Camp Quality.
Next P&F meeting – Monday, 6 March
Held in the GBC, you’re all welcome to attend the second meeting of the P&F for the year.
