Last Sunday we celebrated the Feast of the Ascension and this Sunday we celebrate the joy of Pentecost. At Jesus’ ascension, his apostles were no doubt downcast. The Jesus they knew was gone. In Acts 1:11 we are told that two men in white say to them, Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking to the sky? As the apostles lowered their eyes from heaven to earth and contemplated the mission they now would embark on, the inspiration they received to do so would be in the form of the Holy Spirit who appeared to them at the Feast of Pentecost. Sport and recreation are important ingredients for our holistic wellness. You don’t have to be an Olympic gold medallist to experience the benefits of sport. While each Loreto student may have different sporting objectives or goals, the key ingredient is participation.
Participation is the enabler to the achievement of outcomes and being the best we can be.
It is a hectic time at school with the reporting and examination season in full swing. In Commerce and Geography, Years 7 to 10, the students have achieved success. I hope students and parents alike are happy with grades, feedback and ways forward with respect to future learning. As teachers, we are conscious that students are setting learning goals. We understand that these learning goals need to be realistic, something both teachers and students can measure and something that should be achievable.Read More
