Sunday, 13 November we held the Ex-Students’ AGM after a Mass celebrated by Father Michael Stoney. At the conclusion of our AGM, we enjoyed a sumptuous and scrumptious afternoon tea to celebrate our Centenary year.
Mother Philomena Heaton would have been thrilled to see and hear how successful her “girls” have been. Not just this year with festivities and fund-raising but the strong sense of community and sisterhood that continues in true Loreto Spirit, especially in this year of Felicity. The School very kindly gave us a cake with the Centenary badge on top and cup cakes as well, so in true Ex-Students functions’ fashion our largesse was distributed far and wide to those who could not be there. The Sisters resident elsewhere were not forgotten!!
Again, I am appealing for Ex-Students of any Loreto school who would like to be involved with our good works for the sisters in their ministries and in support of our bursary program, to come along to a meeting to at least “put your toe in the water”!! It’s worthwhile and we’ve had such a great year.
