The Parents and Friends’ Association continues to support those less fortunate than ourselves through the Loreto Wishing Well Project (which supports the Loreto Sisters' work in the Kwa Guyp Township in South Africa) and our Outreach program, whereby we provide "Welcome Baskets" of necessities for newly arrived Sudanese refugees.

In addition to all of the main events organised by various P&F committees throughout the year, (see the summary of events below) each year group also enjoys social activities on a smaller scale. Class parents help to arrange informal cocktail parties in someone's home, class dinners, morning teas, class picnics, class walks, etc… You can be as involved as you choose to be. Loreto is a very welcoming school, and the P&F endeavours to help parents feel comfortable, and to give them the opportunity to make friends and to feel a sense of belonging. We believe it is important to share the "Loreto Spirit" around, as we know how infectious it can be!

The P&F meets at 7pm on the first or second Monday evening of the month during school term, and there is an additional class parents' meeting at 9:30am on the first Thursday morning following the P&F Meeting of the month during school term. Sometimes, guest speakers are invited along. The executive is made up of a male and female president, a male and female vice-president, a treasurer, an assistant treasurer, two secretaries, and a junior and senior school liaison person. In addition, we have a representative on the NSW Parent's Council, a Wishing Well representative and an Outreach representative. All are elected at the AGM in term 4. Class parents are not elected, but volunteer in November each year. It is a lot of work, but rewarding for individuals and especially for the school - and a lot of fun along the way! Please consider putting yourself forward for a position during your time at Loreto. We hope to meet up with you sometime in the near future.

Annual Events

Welcome Cocktail Party
Always held on a balmy night in February to welcome in the new school year; a fabulous evening on the lawns outside the Centenary Hall.

Welcome Morning Teas for New Parents
The P&F always welcome new families to the school with a delicious morning tea and a friendly chat (Kindy parents are also offered tissues on their first day at Loreto).

P&F Luncheon
The Luncheon is held every second year and has an educational theme. There is always an interesting speaker to hold your interest and it is well worth the effort to attend.

Sausage Sizzles
These are organised, as a fundraiser for the Spring Fair, by the P&F for the girls in terms 1, 2 and 4. The girls love to see their parents at the School to serve them lunch. It is great fun to help BBQ with other parents and get to know those not in your year.

Father/Daughter Mass
Always a special day not to be missed. A BBQ follows where the dads can mingle – they love this opportunity to spend time with their daughters!

Fathers' Trivia Night
To be held at the Royal Yacht Squadron. This event is great fun and always a sell out. All fathers should start brushing up on their trivia as the competition is fierce.

Tennis Day
Held at the Neutral Bay Club. Players of all standards join in a six division round-robin competition. Morning tea, lunch and presentations are included. It is always a fun-filled day, so make sure you join in!

Golf Day
Loreto Golf Day was held in May at the Ryde/Parramatta Golf Club. It was a glorious day and 94 golfers participated in an Ambrose Competition. Lunch, dinner, entertainment and prizes were included in the day. Everyone had a ball... don't miss this one either!

Winter Dinner
An annual P&F event and a major fund-raiser. A lot of hard work goes into this themed night, held in June, by the Winter Dinner Committee. Any one with an interest in events planning is welcome to become involved in the Winter Dinner each year.

Loreto Normanhurst and Loreto Kirribilli Morning Tea
Each year in June, the Parents and Friends from both schools enjoy one another's company at alternate venues and celebrate the common bond of being Loreto schools in the one city. There is always an interesting speaker and it is fun to see the other Lorero school. This year the Morning Tea will be at Normanhurst.

Loreto Kirribilli Spring Fair
This fun-filled day is always a real crowd pleaser, building incredible community spirit within the school. The day starts at 9:30am with a family Mass in the Centenary Hall. Following Mass, the fair "opens for business".Various rides, craft and food stalls, a fashion parade, a champagne bar, and a wine auction are regular favourites. Keep an eye out for this wonderful event. If you haven't been to the Loreto Spring Fair before, then treat your family and yourself to a great day out. If you would like to be involved, just contact the P&F presidents.

Inaugural Loreto Fathers' Dinner
This event was a "first" in 2005 and from all reports it was a wonderful opportunity for Loreto Dads to enjoy some camaraderie and true Loreto spirit on their way home from work. We will continue this event in Term 4 this year.

Christmas Gift Fair
We are holding this is at the school for the first time. We hope you can come along and do a little shopping for your Christmas presents.

Second Hand TextBook Sale
This will ne held in the last week of the school year. 2009 is the first year this is to be held so we hope it will be a big success.
Any additional funds raised will go to the Wishing Well.
